Dream Longer Studios was founded by Julia Hinshaw, an artist, vintner, mother, and energetic entrepreneur whose work lives at the intersection of creativity, ritual, and intentional gathering.

Julia’s artistic practice began as a contemplative turning inward. In 2017, during a period of reflection, she set out to write a novel, but found that language fell short. Instead, color and movement emerged as her primary form of expression. Painting became a meditative process, a way to explore emotion, energy, and meaning outside the boundaries of words. Her work is intuitive and process-led, allowing each piece to unfold organically through texture, rhythm, and presence.

Alongside her creative practice, Julia is deeply rooted in hospitality and place. She and her husband, John, became majority owners of Blackbird Vineyards in 2019, continuing a journey shaped by wine, travel, and conversation. While raising their children and moving between Silicon Valley and Napa Valley, Julia immersed herself in vineyard life, launching a family wine label and working closely with renowned winemakers. For her, wine has always been about gathering, connection, and shared experience.

Julia’s work is also guided by a strong philanthropic commitment. In 2014, she and John founded a charitable trust focused on equitable access to housing, healthcare, and education, reflecting a belief that beauty, care, and opportunity should be shared.

Dream Longer Studios brings together these threads, art, energetics, hospitality, and community, into a space designed for ritual, creativity, and meaningful connection. Through both the physical studio and its curated collections, Julia invites others to slow down, gather with intention, and live alongside art and objects that feel alive, grounding, and purposeful.
